Mooring Permit Application
Effective October 14, 2020 all vessels moored within the territorial limits of Folly Beach are required to obtain a permit and renew the permit every 60 days. A copy of the ordinance can be found here. https://follybeachdev.jjcbigideas.com/city-ordinances There is no cost for the permit, but you must complete the application form found here: Mooring Permit Application This permit may be revoked at any time for violation of the requirements of City Ordinance 134.51-134.99: You can find the ordinance by searching here: https://follybeachdev.jjcbigideas.com/city-ordinances. Violations of these requirements are subject to fines of up to $5,000 and/or jail for up to 30 days. Additionally, the vessel will be subject to tow, impound, or destruction at the owner's expense.

VESSEL CONDITION - I confirm the vessel is not derelict nor being abandoned. I confirm the vessel is properly moored, properly lit, not listing/sinking, and remains able to be used for navigation as originally intended.

ABLE TO RESPOND - I confirm that the contact information provided above is correct and current. I further confirm that I understand that a representative or I must be able to respond to the vessel within 24 hours or within 4 hours of a Hurricane Warning.

LIVE ABOARD - I confirm that if I stay/live about the vessel (even temporarily), I must provide proper and legal disposal of both human and physical waste. I understand that I will be required to show proof of weekly pump outs upon inspection and permit renewal.

PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS - I understand that violations of this City ordinance can result in fines between $1,000 and $5,000, up to 30 days jail, and the tow/impound, or destruction of the vessel at my expense.
